Broken Top Xeriscape

Project Description

Complete landscape renovation. The client, a very talented painter, was inspired by landscapes of chaos. This led to the concept behind the design: order versus chaos, or man versus nature. The large turf area in the back of this Brokentop residence was removed and replaced with usable patio space. All sprinklers and irrigation in the backyard were removed and retrofitted with a low-water drip irrigation system. A flagstone patio was installed with 2″ mahogany flagstone and Xtreme Poly was used to fill the joints. The existing water feature was decommissioned and turned into a fire feature within the patio. We plumbed a 3/4″ fusion gas line with a simple valve so the owners had the ability to adjust the flame size depending on preference. We then added some berms and trees to create privacy and lots of perennials for seasonal color. Finally, we built and installed an outdoor kitchen on the back patio.
