HARDSCAPE GUIDE · BEND, OREGON · 2024
A paver driveway is one of the most impactful upgrades you can make to your Bend home's curb appeal. Unlike concrete or asphalt, pavers hold up beautifully in our freeze-thaw climate, can be repaired without replacing the entire surface, and come in hundreds of styles and colors. Here's what a paver driveway costs in Central Oregon.
| Driveway Size | Concrete Pavers | Natural Stone |
|---|---|---|
| 1-car (10x20 ft) | $6,000–$12,000 | $10,000–$20,000 |
| 2-car (20x20 ft) | $12,000–$24,000 | $20,000–$40,000 |
| Large (20x40 ft) | $24,000–$48,000 | $40,000–$80,000 |
Bend's freeze-thaw climate is hard on solid surfaces. Poured concrete and asphalt crack as the ground heaves and settles through winter. Pavers are designed to flex with ground movement — individual pavers can shift slightly and be re-leveled without replacing the entire driveway.
Asphalt requires resealing every 3–5 years and resurfacing every 15–20 years. Concrete typically cracks within 10–15 years in Bend's climate. A well-installed paver driveway can last 30–50 years with minimal maintenance.
PRO TIP
Permeable pavers are an excellent choice for Bend driveways. They allow rainwater and snowmelt to drain through the surface, reducing runoff and eliminating puddles and ice patches.
