Fall Landscaping Guide for Bend, Oregon

September: Aerate, Overseed, and Fertilize

Early fall is the best time to aerate and overseed your Bend lawn. Soil temperatures are still warm enough for germination, but air temperatures are cooling — ideal conditions for grass establishment. Apply a fall fertilizer high in potassium to harden grass for winter.
